Principle of Pay Equity

In 2016, Citi was the first bank to disclose adjusted pay results, and in 2019 we became one of the first companies to disclose our unadjusted or "raw” pay gaps for both women and U.S. minorities. Our commitment to that transparency continues today.

Jane Fraser: An Industry First

Jane Fraser made history when she took the helm as Citi's Chief Executive Officer in early 2021. Not only is she Citi's first female CEO — she's the first woman to lead a major U.S. financial institution.

Jane did not come into this role by accident or coincidence. As part of our deep and extensive succession planning process, Jane held a series of roles that made her the most qualified person to serve as CEO.

Intentionality in talent development is essential if we're going to elevate more women and minorities to high-level positions at Citi — and across our industry as a whole.

Our Approach

- Embracing diverse teams, ideas and possibilities helps us drive growth and progress

We're embedding ownership for diversity throughout our business...

We believe that we are all accountable and responsible for promoting inclusion and work to continually enhance our capabilities. Executives from our CEO's leadership team co-lead our 10 Affinities that represent the broad ranging demographics of our employees.

While senior level accountability is critical to this effort, it won't work without the involvement of our broader employee base. Our leaders will work in tandem with Citi's Employee Network Program and employees globally. Globally, we have 198 employee network chapters with approximately 44,000 members.
