Citi is today's pre-eminent financial services company, with some 200 million customer accounts in more than 140 countries. Our history dates back to the founding of Citibank in 1812. In Japan, our history dates back to when the International Banking Corporation (a predecessor to Citibank) opened its first branch in Yokohama in 1902.
